WHAT IT’S ABOUT: Your four-man Ghost Recon squad is placed on the front lines of an unknown international war. As they progress across a variety of terrains including the Arctic and Africa, the Ghosts begin to realize that there is more going on behind the scenes than they thought possible.

WHY YOU SHOULD CARE: This latest installment in the Ghost Recon series sees you handle some of the most advanced tech yet imagined, including the highly touted “optical camouflage” which renders the user virtually invisible to foes unless they are wearing thermo-goggles. With a mixing and matching of weaponry and a high variety of scenarios placed before you, this could raise the bar once again for the tactical shooter.

WHAT RAY THINKS: I simply could not get enough of the A.T.L.A.S. augmented reality system that feeds the player information on the battlefield like never before. It allows you to work with a rare sense of precision and timing that will have those wannabe tacticians out there jumping for joy. Include with your plethora of futuristic weapons and devices the fact you can modify them to your personal style with the Gunsmith system and the future can’t get here soon enough.

I had a chance at the 2011 Sega Spring Showcase to check out some of the PS3 exclusive Yakuza 4. Fans of Japanese culture will go absolutely nuts with this fourth installment of the series. On top of this, the series returns to the more urban Japan landscape of the first two games and sees a return of the Hostess Clubs. One new change for the series is that now there are four stories in one as many new characters are introduced in this latest chapter of the series. Yakuza 4 will hit store shelves March 15, 2011.

At the 2011 SEGA Spring Showcase, I had a chance to talk with David Pellas, the Design Director from High Voltage Software and SEGA’s Conduit 2. David and I talked about the massive facelift given to the franchise and what fans can expect from this go around with Mr. Ford and the ASE. New weapons, more locales, and huge bosses just scratch the surface of what was talked about in anticipation of this Wii-exclusive’s April 19, 2011, release.

Many of you are aware that I just moved back home to New Jersey and most people take that time to look at things as they pack them up. Some look at picture albums, I look at old tapes. Back in August I interviewed Peter Molyneux in anticipation of Fable 3 and for length purposes, had to cut out a segment where we talked about Milo and Kinect. Now, we’ve taken what hit the cutting room floor and decided to share it with you. Edited by Taylor Tallscott.
